Tammy's Transmission Miracle

When Tammy's 1997 Ford Ranger lost third gear sixty miles from the nearest shop, she fashioned a temporary transmission linkage out of a ratchet strap, a C-clamp, and a bent coat hanger. She drove it home, and then drove it for two more weeks before the part came in. The mechanic said he'd never seen anything like it — and asked to take a photo.
